What grace provides, faith takes! "He did not even spare His own Son but offered Him up for us all; how will He not also with Him grant us everything?" Romans 8:32 [HCSB] If it is true and a fact (which it is), that Jesus came to earth 2000 years ago and was sacrificed for us all on the cross then, it is a "no brainer" that we have already been given everything we ever need for life and godliness by Almighty God. But why is it that we do not see this truth and fact in real life? I think the answer lies in another scripture by the same author, which reads: "Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God." Romans 5: 1-2 [HCSB] My emphasis above shows that the place of grace we are already standing in, where everything we need has already been provided can only be grasped by faith and without faith it is impossible to please God. In other words, faith takes what grace has provided. If there is anything we must all learn to do, it is spending time developing our faith for our daily needs and in preparation for times of trouble. Surely, if faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains, what problem or vision is insurmountable with God? Farai Mutsambiwa | |
