Blockages Cleared I have been so blessed by Daily Devotionals for many years now, and they form a key part of my daily prayer time. Over the years when my spiritual life has felt a little dry they have been a spring of hope and at those times when I feel I could win the world for Christ they have been an ocean of inspiration. So when asked to write a set of Devotionals my mind was drawn to things wet and flowing and how God uses water to speak to us and impact our daily walk with Him. Whilst in New Wine this year, I was caught out in one of the many downpours. As I made my way back to the caravan my eye was drawn to a river of by then muddy water flowing down the roadway. Stones and mud and twigs blocked its path at times, but such was its strength it powered through eventually taking them along with it. The more stuff it picked up however the muddier and angrier it got. I began to think about how like us that is sometimes. We get carried along by the fast and exciting pace of life and before we know where we are the river of life flowing through us has become muddied and blocked or isn't flowing where it should be. We may not have not even noticed the diversion or the build-up of silt, debris and blockage, but the direction of our lives and the sparkle of joy becomes dulled, dirtied and unfit for purpose. Today spend some time asking God to show you those parts of your life that are blocked, muddy or where the river isn't flowing as it should and allow Him to redirect your course. Sally Williams | |
