Lamb of God I believe in the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Eight weeks ago I kissed my Dad's lifeless body goodbye, two weeks later we held his funeral. We sang Morning has broken. My younger brother gave the eulogy and pointed out the Agnes Dei that still adorns the foot of the cross on the Communion table –'… that's the message, that's what he wanted to say "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world"' Jan, now 70, effortlessly walked the length of the church to read a passage from 1 Peter 1: Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Because of his great mercy he gave us new life by raising Jesus Christ from death. This fills us with a living hope, and so we look forward to possessing the rich blessings that God keeps for his people. He keeps them for you in heaven, where they cannot decay or spoil or fade away. They are for you, who through faith are kept safe by God's power for the salvation which is ready to be revealed at the end of time. 1 Peter 1: 3-5 [GNB] We laughed, we cried, but ultimately we remembered a brother, father, grandfather, friend, who believed and in the end after a long life was ready to go home. I am not an atheist because I believe. Thank God for his grace Amen Guy Mowbray | |
