[Monday's Devotional] - Feeling delayed?

Feeling delayed?

There are many things in life that can cause us to be delayed in achieving our goals.

Sometimes it is our own fault, other people's mistakes or circumstances.

We may have failed to pass our driving test many times. We may have sought medical help many times with no breakthrough. A child may have been wayward for many years and may have missed college because of other people's fault.

Today I have some words of encouragement that God is able to turn your situation around and cause you to achieve your goals within the same time.

In Matthew 20, Jesus shared this truth through a parable of a man who went to the market at different times of the day to find some labourers to work in his vineyard. Each time he hired the workers he agreed the amount of pay with them.

When the time of payment came, those hired in the morning expected to be payed more than those hired towards end of the day.

But surprise, surprise! The owner of the vineyard had other ideas. He paid everybody the same amount of money.

By the grace of God, my message to you today is you can still achieve your goals, even if you started late. Only do not give up. Abraham and Sarah were late bloomers. They did not have a child for many years, but through prayer and trusting in God's promises, they finally conceived Isaac their only son when they were well-beyond child bearing age.

The Bible says: "He has made everything beautiful in its time!" Ecclesiastes 3:11 [NIV]

Friend, if you feel abandoned like that labourer in the market who could not find employment till very late in the day, do not despair. Jesus is looking for you and He will find you!  He will compensate you for all the lost time. In Hebrew Isaac means "he will laugh, he will rejoice". When God's promises eventually come to pass, you too will rejoice!  Pray and trust in God.

Prayer: Lord, I have failed to........ because of....... (own fault, other people's mistakes or circumstances). Forgive my sins and those of others who have sinned against me. Father, I ask that you restore me. Give me a double portion of the anointing I need to achieve my goals. Send a breakthrough angel to help me. Accelerate my progress so that I will be in the place you want me to be at this stage in my life, according to your original plan for me. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
