[Tuesday's Devotional] - What is impossible with man, is possible with God

Yesterday we talked about how God in the unseen realm, is going about speaking proudly about you and me, just like he did about Job.

James Chapter 1 vs 2, 3 and 12 (NIV Bible) says this

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

We have seen how Job suffered here on earth and yet in Heaven the reasons why Job was suffering and how God felt and said about Job, were completely different from what Job and friends on earth felt and said.

Today as you reflect and meditate on James chapter 1 vs. 1, 2 and 12, and if you are experiencing any kind of trouble or challenge, rest assured that what the Bible is saying above is exactly what God is thinking and saying to His Angels in Heaven

·         It’s your faith being tested

·         The testing is not intended to cause you to sin for God does not tempt man (vs 13)

·         God knows what He is doing

·         The purpose is to develop the fruit of perseverance

·         And when you have stood the test like Job, you will receive the crown or answer you need

When the disciples were faced with the impossible challenge of feeding a multitude with five small loaves of bread and two small fish, they wondered how this was to happen.

I like what the Bible says in John chapter 6 (NIV)

When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?”  He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.

Philip answered him, “It would take more than half a year’s wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!” John 6:5-7 [NIV]

We all know how this ended

Fear not - God already knows what He is going to do to get us out of our troubles!
