[Monday's Devotional] - You are blameless

Colossians Chapter 1 (Easy English bible) gives us this thrilling reminder:

You used to be far away from God.  You thought and behaved in an evil way.  So you were God’s enemies.  Because Christ died on a cross, you can now be friends with God. Christ takes you to God because you are now free from sin.  God cannot blame you.  He cannot say that you are guilty of sin.  This happens if you continue to believe and to trust Christ.  You must know what you believe.  And you must continue to believe it firmly….

Colossians 1:21-23 [EEB]

All of us used to be guilty and were God’s enemies.  But when we repented from our sins and accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour we became God’s friends.  Christ died so that our sins could be forgiven.  This is good news.  We are free from sin, blameless and righteous before God. However, our mammoth task, is to continuously believe, that Jesus paid the full price and we are free!

The Book of Job tells the story of a man called Job who was good, blameless and trusted God.  But Job had terrible troubles.  We all have experienced troubles, at one point or another in our life journey.

NIV Bible says in Job chapter 1 vs 1:

“This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil”

Let me emphasize again – this is what the Bible says.

But then we also hear God Himself saying the same thing during His conversation with Satan when Satan and the Angels presented themselves to the Lord:

Vs 8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”

Today as you reflect and meditate on Colossians chapter 1 vs 21 – 23, know for sure that in the throne room and corridors of Heaven, God is proudly speaking about you to His Angels including Satan, that you are blameless and righteous.

Don’t wait to hear a booming voice. This is it.  Just believe that what is written in the bible is exactly what God is saying about your situation.
