Your purpose in this world Jesus healed a demon-possessed man living among the tombs, who called himself Legion. In the ancient Roman army, a legion was a division of around 5,000 men, including a complement of cavalry. In other words, Legion was possessed by as many demons. When the man came face-to-face with Jesus, the demons living in him begged to be permitted to enter a large herd of pigs feeding on the hillside. Permission granted, the demons entered the pigs which rushed down the hill and drowned in a nearby lake. When Legion was set free and became normal again he, out of gratitude, wanted to follow Jesus wherever He went. But Jesus said: "Return home and tell how much God has done for you." So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him. Luke 8:39 [NIV] Friends, Jesus wants us to tell the world about our broken state before He intervened, so that when the world sees how God's promises in the bible have been fulfilled in our lives, they too will begin to believe. This week I am dedicating my devotionals to telling the world about my story. Would you join me in telling the people around you what Jesus has done for you? If it's too difficult, perhaps you can share my story? "I, yes I, am the Lord, and there is no other Savior. First I predicted your rescue, then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world. No foreign god has ever done this. You are witnesses that I am the only God," says the Lord". Isaiah 43:11 – 12 [NLT] Farai Mutsambiwa | |
