Jeremiah promises:
This is God’s Word on the subject: “As soon as Babylon’s seventy years are up and not a day before, I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.
“When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen.
“When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen.
“When you come looking for me, you’ll find me.
“Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree.
“I’ll turn things around for you….Jeremiah 29:10-14 [The Message] – author’s emphasis
Our Supreme God is a perfect time keeper. His answer will never be a minute or second too late or too early.
It so happened that, after a short prayer which went “Lord, I don’t want to miss the postman today”, I drove to the nearest post office. I wanted to post my urgent letter concerning something important.
On arrival I was amazed at the fact that the next car to park right behind me was the postman’s red van.
I know that this was not a coincidence because the postman broke his normal routine of going to collect letters from the post box and then going into the post office to collect some more letters. Interestingly also, when he opened the post box, there was a single letter and the one I handed over to him was the second one.
Someone uninitiated to the things of God, might be quick to say, there is nothing of significance, here. But to me this was Divine:
· Answered prayer – I didn’t miss the post man as the letter had to go that afternoon
· God wanted to let me know that, He has all things planned out, He knows what He is doing and He will not be a second too early or too late: (vs 10 –11 above).
· Besides, who knows whether or not my postman was an Angel sent just to show me that God answers prayer and that He will give us a turnaround at the appointed time?
Stay on good terms with each other, held together by love. Be ready with a meal or a bed when it’s needed. Why, some have extended hospitality to angels without ever knowing it! ……. Hebrews 13:1 – 4: [The Message]
