[Wednesday's Devotional] - Listen

Listen

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 [NIV]

Taking time to stop, to look in the mirror, to listen to God is critical if we are to maintain the correct path in life.  If we are drifting with the tide, we are going in the wrong direction.  When God speaks, it might be the wise word of a friend or brother, or the reading of a bible verse which we know is speaking to us directly.

God's word is like a surgeon's scalpel – cutting through the surface to the heart of our selves.

Is God speaking to you directly today?

Are you regularly reading the bible to hear what God is saying?

Lord, I want to listen to your word.  I need your guidance and correction to follow the right path.  Speak and let me listen.  Help me, guide me, and direct me Lord.  Amen
