[Thursday's Devotional] - Turn

Turn

…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14 [NIV]

When we have reflected and listened to God, when He has shown us that the path we are on is away from him we face a choice.  Sometimes this means being humble, acknowledging that we are not good at running our own lives.  At times like that we need to turn – to repent.

Repentance means turning away from sin and towards God, in contrast to the ways of the world which are to turn away from God and towards sin.

Without a turn-around, our sins remain unforgiven.

Do you need to turn around in some way in your life today?

Do you want to take the action needed to gain forgiveness?

Lord, help me to recognise what I need to change.  Thank you for forgiving me when I seek your face and turn from my ways, Amen.
