[Thursday's Devotional] - The Bread of Life

The Bread of Life There was a song that was a favourite of mine as a teenager.  The words are taken from John Chapter 6  (verse 25-35) and follow his account of the feeding of the 5000.  Jesus is explaining that he is the Bread of Life.  As the bread of life, Jesus would nourish his people far better than any miraculous meal. I am the bread of life He who comes to me shall not hunger, He who believes in me shall not thirst, No one can come to me, Unless the father beckons And I will raise you up (x3) On the last day. The bread that I will give Is my flesh for the life of the world And he who eats of this bread, He shall live forever (x2) Unless you eat of the flesh of the Son of Man And drink of his blood And drink of his blood, You shall not have life within you. I am the resurrection, I am the life If you believe in me, Even though you die You shall live forever. Yes, lord I believe, That you are the Christ The son of God, Who has come into the world. [Suzanne Toolan]   I am not sure there is anything I can add.  Meditate on these words..  God should be as vital to our lives as our staple food, bread.
