[Friday's Devotional] - Fruit

Fruit This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. John15:8 [NIV]   … the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control… Galatians 5:22-23 [NIV]   Is this your picture of life, God the father training, pruning, guiding, trusting in the words of Jesus and abiding in him through the Holy Spirit, bearing the fruit of  a life of love, joy, peace…   This is the picture of discipleship that Jesus is offering us through the Vine.  A  Spirit filled, fruitful life, demonstrating a skilled gardener is at work.   Francis Schaffer says in his book 'The Great Evangelical Disaster': 'the final apologetic which Jesus gives is the observable love of true Christians for true Christians'. Love is therefore the greatest means of evangelism.
