Amazing Power
After heading West, we regrouped and repacked and headed out East. Our first stop was this natural wonder, Niagara Falls.
Again the photo does not do any justice to this wonderful spectacle, 168,000 cubic meters of water fall over both falls every minute, and this picture is taken right at the top of the Horseshoe falls. With the noise of the water thundering below, this tiny space is mesmerising.
The only thing stopping you from climbing in is a waist high fence and then a 58 metre wet drop to almost certain death.
However with all this power (which the Canadian Government harnesses to use as Hydro Electric power), this particular spot stops me in my tracks. This was the second time I have been to this exact spot in my life and with all the noise going on around me and the thunder of the falling water, just staring at the waters breaking over the top, somehow, pulls your focus in and its as if nothing else is going on around you at all. Just the power and the beauty of this amazing thing in front of you.
God can be like this, well to me anyway. My life is filled with school runs and childrens' after school activities, shopping, washing, client meetings, daily trips along the A14 and long days away to our European factories. But with all this "noise" around me, if I truly focus on it for a moment, I can block it all out and concentrate on God and stand in awe and wonder at not only His Beauty and Majesty, but his amazing strength and power in what he does for me every day.
